Their story, in their words…
For the Mark Evison award our team built and planned the construction of a go kart. This was a very important opportunity for us as it allowed us to practise and get a grasp of what engineering would look like, which we are all interested in doing as a degree in university.
But this challenge wasn’t as easy as we thought it would be, with problems over sourcing the right components where the dimensions and requirements were suitable for other aspects of the build proved challenging and slowed down progress. This although frustrating at times had the benefit of us really understanding what an engineering project entailed and the problems that came with it.
Having this hands-on experience was really fun and valuable, which we will make use of in the future. Without the Mark Evison foundation this opportunity would have never happened so we are very grateful for their help.
