Their story, in their words…
As part of our Mark Evison Project we designed a mural for a Primary School in Eastcote. The school has a set of superheroes designed to teach children to be their best selves. To design our idea we took an already existing idea Of the superheroes however took a twist to it and recreated the hero’s into realistic animated characters which we then painted on a school wall as a mural for them to always see when they’re in the playground.
There were some changes of plans when it came to where we were painting the mural as we had less time than intended as well as weather changes. However we did manage to finish within 5 days instead of the 7 days we had which was brilliant. There were other times where we struggled with the tracing of the images as the wall was grainy making it time consuming to get every edge printed enough to see. Although it was difficult and time consuming we managed to find a way to make it work.
After discussing this we have found this project was a lot of fun, it helped us develop a lot of skills such as teamwork, communication, time management and multitasking. What we both got out of this experience is a way to help a part of our community, spreading positivity to children as well as working alongside a school. We both also got experience in Interior Design as we are both hoping to become successful Interior Designers in the near future, as well as having a super curriculum to add to our UCAS application. This was an amazing opportunity.
