Their story, in their words…
The morning of the hike, we went on a coach and train which was quite delayed to the start point which was Avebury. At 2pm we started our first light hike.
On the first day we passed through the Hackpen White Horse and Barnbury Castle, we walked roughly 13 miles near the Wayland Smithy where we respectfully with permission wildcamped.
On the second day we took a longer journey where we started at 8 am and walked 17 miles passing through many historical buildings and towns to Blewburry.
Third day we rested in the morning, after which we walked at 10am and walked 12 miles passing through Wallingford Castle and Willow ponds to Watlington. Fourth day we started again at 9 am, passing through Chinnor chalk pits and the White leaf cross chalk figure and wildcamped in a permitted area nearby.
And on the final day we started at 9am, passing through Coombs hill monument to the endpoint which was IvinghoeBeacon . We had a nice picnic before packing up to the train station and going back home.
At some times it felt stressful as there was a specific amount we had to do each day to get to the endpoint but the scenery made it worth the hike and the adventure, it showed us that dedication and determination goes a long way mentally and physically and teamwork is a big part of understanding and making the best out of difficult situations.
