Their story, in their words…
Our project was to produce and release an EP. The funding we received we used towards the purchase of equipment and publication (alongside the borrowing of school facilities) to facilitate our music production in pairing borrowed and bought equipment with our MPC ONE+. On the aforementioned MPC, we have used a variety of both MIDI sounds native to the device alongside sounds we have, ourselves, recorded from live instruments and some we have sampled (having been sure to abide by any laws that may apply to the use of said samples).
We took great pleasure in partaking in this opportunity given to us by the MEF, not only as a creative outlet but also knowing that in doing so, we are helping to support a foundation which can allow others to pursue their own projects. There were some challenges along the way such as having limited free time during a busy academic period, which admittedly led to a crunch towards the end. However, in the end we managed to produce three songs which we believe we can be proud of.
