The Beacons Way

Their story, in their words…

As a group from East London, we managed to complete an exhilarating 100-mile journey through the stunning landscapes of Wales. Our adventure involved exploring the rugged terrain of the Brecon Beacons.

On the first day, we conquered the most challenging leg of our journey, which helped to set the tone for the rest of the adventure. However, we admittedly underestimated the challenge, leading to a few unexpected difficulties along the way, for example, we encountered challenges whilst crossing farm fields. Furthermore, despite fatigue becoming a formidable opponent, we displayed unwavering determination and resilience throughout.  Musical motivation was also key, as it became our saviour, providing the rhythm and energy to keep us going during tough stretches.

As anticipated, a few arguments surfaced, but they only strengthened our resolve to overcome obstacles together, and we managed to stay together as a cohesive unit. Throughout our challenge, we found the people of Wales to be incredibly welcoming and helpful.

Overall, the Mark Evison Foundation allowed us to complete this adventure. An adventure that was a remarkable journey filled with challenges but also laughter. We learned the importance of preparedness and the kindness of strangers, making this adventure an unforgettable chapter in our lives.
