Their story, in their words…
Our inspiration to build this model is to explore creating a design from the initial sketch and being able to develop our idea to the final outcome.
It helped us to understand the process and think about intricate details that we had not considered before as part of making an accurate architectural model.
To make this architectural model we mainly used foam board to create the structure as this was easy to handle and was a stable material to support the model. We faced a few challenges along the way, such as ensuring parts of the model were accurate so that all parts would fit together.
The most interesting aspect was creating the design and working together to make it realised. We improved a variety of transferable skills such as teamwork, organisation, time management, and dexterity.
Overall, we found this project to not only be extremely enjoyable but also enriching and rewarding as we gained many lifelong memories and skills that would help us in the future.
We are forever grateful about this opportunity and we hope that more people take on this project as it helps spread awareness about the charity.
