Lads on tour

Their story, in their words…..

On Monday the 15th of August, we took a coach from Victoria coach station to Penrith, from which we took a bus to our campsite and set up our tent. On the second day, we walked to Glenridding and climbed Glenridding common, which took roughly 2-3 hours. After this we climbed back down and headed towards the campsite. On the third day, we walked to Patterdale and climbed St Sunday Crag. This mountain was slightly more difficult than Glenridding common as it was taller, but our group persevered to the top. On the 4th day, we walked to Kirkstone Pass, which was much closer to our campsite compared to the other mountains, and we climbed Stony Cove Pike. This mountain was slightly smaller than the previous two, but was difficult in it’s own way, due to the animals, such as sheep, roaming around. On Thursday the 19th, we woke up early and took the local bus back to Penrith, from which we boarded our coach, which took us back to Victoria coach station.

During our trip, our biggest challenge was climbing St Sunday Crag. This was because it was much taller that the other two mountains, leading us to push the limits of our stamina and dexterity. Overall, we believe we completed our challenge successfully and we’re able to physically and mentally challenge ourselves by pushing ourselves outside our comfort zones, and striving to maximise this experience.
