Lake District hike

Their story, in their words…

Embarking on our journey from London Victoria Coach Station at seven in the morning with our bags packed was an exciting feeling. Windmere was a long journey ahead but we were all excited to get going. Once we arrived in the evening we set up our tent just before sunset and made ourselves dinner using our portable stoves and gas canisters.

The next three days were packed with challenging but exciting and very scenic walks along grand lakes like Lake Windermere, past impressive historic structures such as Wray Castle and up towering pikes like Scafell Pike. There were also very pleasant nearby towns to visit such as Ambleside where we enjoyed a lunch and sent postcards to our relatives. Our trip allowed us to become closer friends, create memories that we will forever cherish and learn some new important skills such as navigation. We are all now much more competent campers and would like to extend our gratitude to the Mark Evison Foundation for making this all possible.
