Extensive Lake District hike

Their story, in their words….

For a trip we planned so meticulously, it was quite funny how few things went to plan, and yet it really was one of the best experiences we could have asked for. Wild animals, fickle weather, diverted routes – the list goes on – but that’s what made it such a memorable few days. Our first train arrived later than we’d hoped for, which ultimately had us playing catch-up from day 1. We misread the map once or twice, ran into closed paths, and probably took one too many breaks. After an unlucky start, we decided to leave bright and early the next morning, which gave us 14 hours of walking to reach the next campsite, so we kept somewhat on track. That night we had a mix of rain, hail, and lightning, so our tent was flooded and our clothes soaked. The food we had left for later wasn’t too edible either, so when we finally got to the train station by the end of day 3, it felt like a well-deserved moment of rest. And though things didn’t quite go to plan, we all went home with huge smiles on our faces. The Lake District in its entirety was truly unreal, more than worth a visit, and we’re all certain it’s not our last time there. Again, a huge thank you from all of us to the team at Mark Evison for making this whole thing possible.
