Their story, in their words…

We travelled to Cambridge with the aim of exploring how an unfamiliar environment could stimulate creativity. While we were there, we combined observation, our photography skills, and creative writing to capture the atmosphere of the city. The photographs recorded architecture, history , and everyday moments.

The poems translated these impressions into language that explored themes of history, movement, and reflection. One of the hardest challenges we faced was creating poems in response to what we saw – at first it was difficult to express our experience into words, but through many trials, we gradually found ways of shaping our observations into pieces that represented our experience.

We then brought the poems and photos together to create a book. This project would not have been possible without Mark Evison Foundation, whose support encouraged us to test our ideas, and ultimately grow in both confidence and creativity.
