Their story, in their words….
‘Our expedition took place from the 14th-18th of July in two locations in Cornwall, North Cliffs and Lizard Point.
We spent two days in Falmouth (our first stop), staying in a hostel called Falmouth Lodge Backpackers, where we completed a 23 km hike along the North Cliffs coast in Reskajeage. It was a physically straining experience, and we had to take a few breaks along the way but managed to completed it after several hours of walking and stopping for food.
We then proceeded to take a bus to our next stop- Coverack- where we would stay for an additional two days. The second hike took place at Lizard Coast where we spent 6/7 hours hiking along a rocky trail overlooking the cliffs, making sure to try some Cornish ice cream whilst we were there! This was also a challenging task due to the steepness of the slopes found along the cliffs, so we had to be extra careful in making sure neither of us slipped or fell.
Throughout the trip we had to plan our bus journeys to-and-from towns in Cornwall, alongside preparing meals that would be both nutritious and healthy; this experience taught us both a lot about independence (especially from family) and how to survive on our own- a beneficial skill for life in University.
It was also an enriching and fun experience; during our off times we made sure to explore the area and take a loads of pictures of the beautiful scenery found near the coasts.
Overall we both enjoyed the experience and would love to visit Cornwall again in the future!’
