Their story, in their words…
During the trip we had arrived in Pitlochry a town in Scotland and we had set out to walk across the Cairngorms national park over a 4-day wild camping trip up to Aviemore as our final destination.
Although we may have thought that it would be a relatively simple route to take on the map in reality some of the paths we took were very under used and so the path hade no longer existed and therefore, we had to walk of route. Many of the planned camping spots had seemed different in real life compared to what it had thought to be on the map for example one spot was covered in a large area of deforestation trees that was uncampable so were had to walk on to find another spot.
Overall, the whole group had thought that it had been a real challenge as a whole Including walking these distances, the terrain, the elevation and carrying the weight of their bags the whole time. Throughout this trip we think that we have gotten physically stronger but also mentally as it took a lot to keep going on this trip.
Thank you so much to the people at Mark Evison foundation for allowing us to be able to go on this trip.
