Their story, in their words…
For our project, we wrote lyrics and recorded three musical pieces we created and covered. We first recorded our songs at Mill Hills Studio. We had to re-record the songs at home because it didn’t turn out how we wanted it due to the lack of practice. From this, we understood the importance of being prepared. However, we are happy with the outcome. We have sent them on YouTube. Our songs and covers: “Meeting You”, “Ray of Light”, and “The way you felt”.
Ling’s report: My role in the group was to play the piano and create melodies. I’ve always loved creating short pieces but never managed to finish them and share them. This project allowed me to share my song with others. The piece I created is a calm piano piece.
ZiXuan’s report: My role is to write lyrics and select background music for the song. It was a creative journey that required a deep understanding of the lyrical and musical elements that make a song memorable and impactful. I began to find inspiration for my lyrics from my personal experience and the emotions I explored. I ensure my background music enhances my lyrics and the song’s overall message.
Yezi’s report: My role in this production was performing vocals and singing. I’ve always been drawn to singing, and I used to sing with my buddies on the playground. I had initially intended to perform an original song with original tracks. Sadly, I lacked experience, so it did not go as well as expected. As a result, I decided to sing a cover of one of my favourite artists, a song that genuinely tests my voice and language abilities. Overall, I felt that this was a worthwhile experience for me to push myself, and it also offered me and my friends some priceless memories.
