Dartmoor Camping

Their story, in their words…

Our adventure started and ended at the wonderful land of Dartmoor. Our group of four people started off by catching a 5 hours coach from London to get to Exeter before another hour by bus to Moretonhampstead. We then walked for around four hours to get to our designated wild camping spot. We camped there overnight before starting off the next morning.

Second day was an expectedly the hardest day of the trip. A thirteen mile walk from our camping spot the night before to the camping site – it was hard to keep up motivation by the end due to the large weight we all carried and the distance we walked. Despite all challenges, we made it before night time and had dinner before bed.

Third day onwards was a blur of exploration with routes I’ve planned out before the trip. After this trip, we have all learnt a very important skill especially in the wild: always be prepared and never waver incase of unexpected challenges.

Overall, our trip ended on a positive note and we’re all extremely grateful for the foundation to provide us with the opportunity of this journey.
