Baking club

Their story, in their words…

For my Mark Evison project, I did a baking class with some year 5 students in their food tech room. We made chocolate chip cookies.

I think that it went amazing. There were smooth transitions throughout the day with children coming and getting their cookies while we were making cookies and the organisation was organised although we had to go out to buy flour it was a breeze.

I felt very rewarded after it. All of the children loved it. They were giving us cheers and they were very enthusiastic. Overall it was an amazing experience. It made me feel very confident in myself that I could show leadership and show my friends what to do and how to do it and also with the children and making sure that they could follow instructions correctly.

After this experience I have learnt the importance of organisation and knowing that if you’re going forward with something messy you’re gonna feel very frantic, panicked and anxious about it so planning in detail is the best way to do things. I also feel very confident in myself and also my social skills by communicating with teachers, the students themselves and parents was better than before I had done my project.
