Their story, in their words…
From the 25th of May – 29th May, a group of 5 of us went hiking on the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path in South Wales. It consisted of climbing many cliffs along the coastline and visiting a variety of different rural and coastal towns, and staying at the campsites within them.
Our hike was filled with many unexpected events; we faced extreme weather with one day being scorching hot and the next being caught up in a big storm, members of our group got injured or fell ill, we got lost a lot and got stung by lots of nettles, but despite all this, we made sure to make the most out of this expedition.
It was mentally and physically enduring, especially with the harsh weather, but the gorgeous views made up for it such as the Church Doors and Fresh Water East Beach, as well as the people we met along the way that were unforgettable and helped us immensely. We all got closer as a group which made us feel calm and collected whilst hiking difficult trails and allowed us to make a lot of memories together.
From this experience, we learnt the importance of budgeting and planning collaboratively, as well as how important group resilience is and being able to see the bright side of difficult situations and we would all recommend it to any group planning to do it in the future.
