Their story, in their words…
For our Mark Evison work, we chose to create a computer game. This idea allowed us to combine both creativity and technical skill, while also working together as a team on something original. To demonstrate and support our idea, we organised a crowdfunder which gave us the opportunity to raise money for the things we required, such as resources and tools that would help us bring the game to life.
Running the fundraiser was not only successful in providing what we needed, but it also gave us valuable experience in planning, organisation, and communicating our project to others.
During the process of making the game, we faced a number of technical issues that challenged us. Many of these were coding bugs or errors that were not easy to fix. Instead of letting these setbacks stop our progress, we tried to think more creatively about how to approach them. Often, this meant turning bugs that we couldn’t fully solve into features, using them in new ways that actually improved the game and made it more interesting. This approach taught us to be flexible and resourceful when things did not go exactly as planned.
By open-mindedly sharing our thoughts, ideas, and different skills, we were able to solve problems more effectively together. Everyone contributed in their own way, and this collaboration helped us complete the game and make it the best version we could.
In the process, we not only created a finished product but also became better at working as a team, thinking creatively under pressure, and developing resilience when faced with challenges
