Their story, in their words…
We hiked 46km through mountains and took countless breathtaking views. It was a lot, but the views we had at every turn only fueled us to keep walking.
We had many minor complications that were sorted out very easily with communication and perseverance. We spent a lot of time talking to each other and it got us a lot closer as friends.
We felt confident throughout and had a great time traversing through the rocky slopes of the peak district. I think being confident allowed us to take paths that were challenging and feel rewarded when reaching the end point, i.e. the summit
When doing Mark Evison and all the paperwork/reports we all had this picture in mind of things we were going to do and what it would actually look like. Our imaginations were not creative enough compared to the things we saw and experienced. The memories we’ve all got from this do not have a price, from dipping our feet into natural waterfalls or sitting at the top of the mountain sipping our drinks, to all of us sitting in a cramped tent struggling to stay awake and watch “The Gladiator”. Those are many of the reasons why this trip will never be forgotten.
We would like to thank you for coming to our school and letting us apply and follow through with your foundation and for the help you have provided with the planning and preparation for this to become possible as it has been a fantastic experience for all of us that we greatly enjoyed and appreciate. We hope that more young people like us can continue gaining new experiences like these in the future.
