Their story, in their words…
When we arrived we put up our tent and went on a little walk to explore our campsite and take in the beautiful scenery. We headed back to our campsite and went to sleep.
When we woke up we hiked up Arthur’s pike which took us around 5 hours and the view was wonderful we could see the whole of Ullswater.
The second day we hiked up Bonscale Pike, on the way we went through a valley which had a waterfall, when we arrived back at our campsite we bought a disposable barbecue and cooked some sausages.
On our final day we went into the nearby town called Pooley Bridge and we had lunch in the local pub and talked to a few of the locals and they were very kind and we also learnt about the history of the town. We headed back to our campsite for our final dinner and played some cards in our tent.
Our trip worked out perfectly, it couldn’t have gone any better and we enjoyed every moment. All four of us felt very grateful to be given the opportunity to be able to experience the trip and explore the lake district.
We gained survival skills, teamwork skills, leadership skills and most importantly a very fun experience. We would all like to thank The Mark Evison Foundation for giving us the chance to go on a trip we never would’ve thought would be possible without them so thank you.
