Their story, in their words….
We made a short film in which the main goal was to explore how story and emotion can be played through camera angles as well as music. This was a first opportunity for us to be directing, producing and acting behind a proper camera, however we did run into issues as on our first day of filming we did not have all the techniques down and later found some of the footage to be unusable. This was in some ways exaggerated due to the fact that we had scheduling issues where one of the actors was away however we got around this issue using other people to fill in with clever camera placement to hid this. Also, when we first went out for filming it surprised us how much equipment we would need to bring for all the different shots as well as how tiring it can be filming in the heat.
As a group we are all very proud and happy with how it turned out, it was different to how we originally visioned but we confidently feel this was a far better direction and actually helped our creativity thinking. This project has helped with organisational skills, planning and understanding how much time filming takes up as well as postproduction which is where the most was developed as we spent more time than expected there seeing different versions to come to the final idea.
