Their story, in their words…
Our creative Mark Evison project was intended as a fashion show to be done in school starring 8 different outfits.
Initially, our first priority was collating the specifics for each outfit, including fabrics, extra materials, individual costs, models (including measurements and designs), and promotions/social media managements. Once this was decided and we received our budget of £130, we began purchasing all the materials we needed and making the outfits themselves.
However, we ran into a multitude of issues including scheduling conflicts with hosting and a tightening budget, leading us to cut down to 7 outfits instead of 8. Unfortunately, this led us to be unable to physically host the show, however, the process of making the outfits was still a rewarding and enjoyable challenge as we got stuck into the step-by-step method that is required when creating dresses, allowing us to become experts in the craft of sewing!
As a whole, despite how the process has been stressful particularly when looking at the administrative side, this experience has provided a far greater insight into event planning as well as constructing creative and beautiful pieces of clothing. Overall, we have gained valuable knowledge from this experience and we thank Mark Evison for providing us with this opportunity!
