Their story, in their words…
I created a children’s book centred around the ways the body is able to protect and defend itself from bacteria and viruses alike. I wanted to children to understand the amazing ways their bodies work to make sure they are ok and give them relief and security knowing. This was my first time really trying to cater my writing to a younger audience especially to convey a more complex topic which helped me realise the importance of your audience when you are writing.
It was a project that took a while probably not where i expected as turning the pages into pdfs that fit the required dimensions for my book as if these measurements including the bleed areas were incorrect then the whole book would be ruined so this took longer than expected and showed me that to make something successful that you need to understand fully the intricacies of the project and the requirements that it needs to be what you want it to be.
I am very happy with the outcome of my book although I feel that there is always something to do be it making the drawings more accurate or just more detailed. It was a well while experience that pushed both my artistic and literacy skills to create a product that I am proud to have made by myself.
