Their story, in their words…
We created a short comedic film about the Potsdam Conference at the beginning of the Cold War, wanting to turn the event into a dramatic reality TV scene. This was our first time managing a project like this and it helped us realise how much time and organisation goes into making a film and how you must be prepared for any situation.
Pre-production was stressful as we had to keep making changes and additions to our script as well as extras originally included in the project dropping out very close to and on the date of filming. However, we did not let it delay us and managed to make changes on the day.
Filming and directing the movie was the highlight of our project as it was fun leading the filming process so that the acting reflected our vision, and seeing all our planning and writing come to life as we acted the scenes out. Seeing the final film and the reactions of our friends whilst watching it was rewarding and we were glad to have done this project despite it being challenging.
Overall, it was a wonderful experience to work creatively with something we are both passionate about (history) and it taught us a lot of practical skills for the future.
