Their school, in their words…
We are delighted to have been given the opportunity of taking part in the creation of our own project with the support of the Mark Evison Foundation in funding our project. It is clear to say we have left this opportunity with a range of skills that we have adopted along the journey of our Cook Off project, ranging from teamwork skills, time management, and leadership. We are proud to say our project was a success, and we are happy with the outcome of our hard work in creating an amazing cook off which was loved by all our peers and teachers at school. However, one thing we found difficult was our attempt to fundraise money from the cook off by selling the pizza and cakes after the cook off, which unfortunately didn’t go to plan as all the food finished during the judging stage of the cook off. We will however try to tackle this by playing the finished film to our school at the start of September and fundraise that way. Undoubtedly, we learnt a lot from this fault, which we can now use in the future when organising an event to avoid making the same error again. Overall, we are delighted to have learnt so much from taking part in this project and we would recommend that others take this same opportunity if given to them as they would benefit highly from all the skills, they would take away from this project which will leave them set and ready for future projects.
