Hiking in Glasgow

Their story, in their words…

We began our journey in Glasgow and planned to cover an average of 13 miles per day. The first few days were challenging as we navigated through rocky terrain, but we were rewarded with exciting views of the Scottish countryside. We set up camp each night, cooked our meals over a fire, and enjoyed the company of one another. We faced unexpected challenges, such as heavy rain and high winds, which made the hike even more difficult. Additionally, the journeys from and to Glasgow were tough because we had to sit in a coach for over ten hours with minimal breaks. However, we persevered as a group, encouraging each other through the tough times. Despite the difficulties, we all agreed that the hike was a wonderful experience. We learned to adapt to unexpected situations and developed our physical and mental endurance. As we approached the end of the trail, we felt a sense of accomplishment and pride in ourselves, so we celebrated with a group dinner on the Saturday we returned at a restaurant based in Victoria and shared our favorite memories from the trip. Overall, the hike and camping trip was an enormous success because we were able to push ourselves beyond our limits.

Unfortunately, we were unable to fundraise because we had other commitments at the time (we had to prepare for our end of year exams.) However, we plan to fundraise this summer by organizing a charity event and reaching out for donations.
