Their story, in their words…
The Mark Evison Foundation generously funded us to take on a challenge; we decided to create a book. At first, we didn’t know what kind of book we wanted to create, we decided to make a fantasy book in the end after multiple discussions and meetings.
As we decided on a fantasy book, we realised maybe some illustrations could be a great feature to our book, we allocated each other roles, Matas the main writer and Vilte the co-writer/illustrator. Over the course of many months, we had discussions regarding the creative approach we would take to the book, many ideas were given before we came to a final decision regarding the book.
Finally, after completing the book we were tasked to print the book, we had to contact many different printing companies, our books were printed, and we sold our books at our school library.
In conclusion we were satisfied with our project, we made sure to be organised every step of the way with some drawbacks however we managed to recover.
It has helped us become more organised and taught us how to balance responsibilities.
