Their story, in their words…
I have always wanted to share the music my band and I write with the world.
Initially, I planned to organize a live performance where we could play our songs for an audience. However, that plan fell through after we failed to find a suitable venue. I later discovered that we could produce an EP instead by recording at the Mill Hill Studio complex.
From there, we started writing together. As a band, we managed to fully finish 4 songs by the time of our studio session. During recording, every member had a clear assignment based on what they played. Overall, we managed to record all 4 tracks, but most felt rushed, especially the vocals. To make matters worse, towards the end of the session, all of our audio files were somehow deleted, and our producer had to recover them. Although he restored most of the files quite quickly, it still cut into our remaining studio time, which was a shame.
Another difficulty we had was scheduling rehearsals. Since it was the holidays, most members already had plans. It was a long and stressful process to find time to practice together. Not to mention that our main rehearsal space was at school, which had all the equipment we needed. Since the holidays started, we were left with limited equipment and space for practising, which added to our difficulties.
Despite every challenge, the journey was completely worth it. We didn’t just manage to produce our songs; we also learned how to be independent and collaborate effectively as a team, which I think was the best outcome that came out of the entire project.
