Their story, in their words…
Our journey started by catching the train from Marylebone to Wendover. We began the hike to the Chiltern Hills early in the morning, and followed a designated trail through woodlands and open fields. On our day hike, we explored the beautiful countryside, a stark contrast to the busy city of London.
We stopped at several viewpoints, most notably Coombe Hill, where we took photographs next to the Boer monument. We also enjoyed our scenic, yet challenging walk up Beacon Hill.
Following our walk through the Pulpit Hill Nature Reserve, we came across an independent farm cafe, where we bought refreshments and talked to locals about the Mark Evison Foundation. Our final stop was Wendover station, where we took the train back to London.
During our hike, we all stayed determined throughout the journey, even when some parts of the route became challenging and tiring. We encouraged one another to keep going and worked together to overcome any difficulties we faced along the way.
As we walked, we learned to appreciate the beautiful environment around us, including the rolling hills, green fields, woodland paths, and fresh countryside air. The peaceful surroundings gave us the opportunity to enjoy nature and take in the stunning views. We also enjoyed seeing the sheep, cows, horses, and deer that we don’t normally get to see in the city.
This experience taught us the importance of determination, teamwork, and appreciating the natural beauty that surrounds us.
