Their story, in their words…..
For my project I created a short comic called “Yoko!” which is about girl named Yoko who wants to find her parents and goes out to look for them with her older cousin Ayane. Originally I was going to have a different story for the comic entirely but I realized it would take too long and I was no longer interested in the story I wrote.
My experience doing this project had its difficulties, for instance, this was the first time I was using a drawing tablet so I had to learn and get used to using it relatively quickly. A couple of personal events and issues occurred during this period which cause me to lose motivation at times. I also found it quite time consuming so I often had to sleep much later than usual (usually between 3am – 5am), so at times I found it quite daunting.
However, there was also plenty of positives and enjoyable moments of doing the project such as the story writing and character designs. I was also able to learn a bit from the project such as the ability to self-motivate and how to work better under pressure. I also was able to try out different styles of drawing and different colours and better understand how to use a drawing tablet.
