The Mark Evison Foundation was set up in 2009 to promote the personal, mental and physical development of young people.
It provides funds to enable young people to stretch themselves constructively and so gain more confidence, courage and self-reliance, as well as new skills. We hope that this will bring out the best in them.
Lt Mark Evison died in 2009 from a gunshot wound while serving as a British army officer in Helmand Province, Afghanistan: he was trying to get the platoon to safety following an ambush. The Foundation was set up as a memorial to him, and his values and character are a driving force within it.
